In the East you have the famous Aegean, peppered with islands such as Mykonos, Paros, Milos and Santorini, commonly dry rocky places with sandy beaches. In stark contrast to the Aegean, there is the Ionian Sea in the West, its islands feature high elevations and lush green forests as far as the eye can see. Greece shares the waters of the Ionian with many other tourist paradises such as Croatia and Italy too.
