According to the news from Acentic, that leading supplier of broadband and interactive solution for the hotel industry has been selected by Marriott International to supply in-hotel technologies across Europe.
Acentic’s so called Panorama platform delivers digital broadcast, on demand HD TV services, and other digital services. The company’s innovation is already employed in over 16,000 Marriott rooms across the continent, but this deal further strengthens the partnership between the two. One key for Marriott and Acentic seems clear in the capability of Acentic’s platform for expandability.
These moves into the digital realm, mobile, and other technological advances make it mandatory that chains employ technologies that can keep up. Richard Robinson, CEO of Acentic, had this to add:
“Marriott is dedicated to providing a world class in-room experience, and Acentic has always delivered the high levels of product and service quality expected by Marriott and their guests. As we continue our long and durable relationship, we have a significant opportunity to extend our roll out and grow with Marriott in Central and Eastern Europe.”
Nearly all major technology companies seem tuned in on the hospitality industry. And where competition for guest dollars takes guest experience to the next level – well, this is certainly where customers win out. Looking at another press release from today, LG Electronics announced the Pro:Centric technology as well. Their LV555H is LG’s first commercial LED HDTV to feature Pro:Centric for such applications in hospitality, and one that is sure to catch on. In news from Austin and the HITECH conference, XETA Hospitality Solutions and a dozen others made similar announcements, not to mention travel related news of a sort from Singapore and around the globe.
This is good news for travelers, good news for chains like Marriott, and terrible news for any hospitality industry company not prepared to keep up. We leave you with some images from the Marriott in Bucharest Romania, and the pertinent contact points for further info.
Additional Info
For those not familiar with Acentic, the company was the first to install guest connectivity panels for Marriott. According to the news release on this venture, both companies intend to work jointly in expanding and improving guest experience form within the comfort of their rooms.
