The “Nature Loves Courage Festival 2019” at Sougia kicks off June 7th and 8th in the far-southwest of Crete Island.
The annual Elos Chestnut Harvest and Festival is scheduled to take place October 21st, after last year’s cancellation on account of a local villager’s death. Organizers this year promise to make up for lost time with live music, folk dances, and plenty of raki and wine to go along with traditional chestnut recipes.
Since 1914 the city of Rethymno, in North-Central Crete, has celebrated a magnificent festive event, the Carnival of Rethymno. This year, as in the past, the town folk will present; parties, masquerades, traditional dancing and music, theater performances, parades, and many other events.
