Azerbaijan is one of the most progressive tourist destinations in the world since the outpouring of interest after Eurovision. As an indicator of just how quickly things are ramping up there, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Abulfaz Garayev, just announced this morning the his agency’s need for tourism professionals.
Once upon a time New York City’s Empire State Building was the envy of the world, the tallest skyscraper then constructed dwarfed all other man made objects. Fast forward to today and news from Azerbaijan. The filthy rich former Soviet Union outpost intends on using oil revenues to catapult itself into the modern age with a range of ambitious projects, including erecting the world’s tallest building.
Azerbaijan’s tourism industry is nowhere near as profitable as the potential indicates. The government there is taking steps to ramp up the country’s lagging travel profile with education, outreach, regulation, and an appeal to people in Azerbaijan to show their true hospitality effectively.
Azerbaijan’s booming industry has spurred growth in ever sector of that country’s economy. With massive infrastructure projects ongoing, and progressive expansion across the board, tourism seems the next logical boom market for Azerbaijan.
