Greek Minister of Education, Lifelong Training and Religion, Mrs. Anna Diamantopoulou, had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Giorgos Nikitiadis and the President of Hellenic Association of Travel and Tourist Agencies (HATTA) Mr. Giorgos Telonis recently about the development of school tourism in Greece.
HATTA expressed its satisfaction for the results of the meeting focused on prolongation of the period for school trips, their qualitative upgrade with cultural and environmental features for educational reasons, motives for long visits to Greece aiming at regional development, and decrease of school trips’ costs.
Emphasis for the meeting was focused on the great potential of incoming school tourism. Greece as a tourism destination for school trips will be promoted to countries with common cultural and religious features such as Russia, Bulgaria and Romania. According to the meeting news.
