Information from Biletix this week reveals the two most popular and romantic destinations for Russian lovers this year are Sochi and Barcelona. The Valentine’s data, derived from an analysis of tickets sold for couples without children with a trip duration not more than 4 days from 14 to 18 February also showed sales up 14% over last year.
Among the Russian places romantic couples are most attracted to; Sochi, Krasnodar and Saint-Petersburg top the list. Among international destinations, the leaders are: Barcelona, Istanbul and Tel Aviv. Also according to the study, the average age of the lovers, traveling in pairs is 28 years old. On the expenditures, the flight in both directions from Moscow Russia to other Russia destinations for two people in mid-February averaged 10 960 rubles (last year — 9 100), and for overseas trips 29 458 roubles (last year — 23 514 rubles).
The most affordable domestic destinations in mid-February were: Kazan (2 580 sublated-back), Saint-Petersburg (2 980 rubles), Nizhny Novgorod (3 891 rubles), Samara (3 098 roubles) and Ufa (4 946 rubles). And for international destinations with departure from Moscow, the most affordable — Chisinau (8 505 rubles), Vienna (9 512 rubles), Istanbul (from 8 510 rubles per ticket there and back.
