Budget airline Wizz Air has announced daily service from Frankfurt to Budapest. The Hungarian capital welcomed some 800,000 visitors last month, which was an all time high for January. So the expansion of Wizz Air service is more good news.

Travelers headed from Budapest to Sofia will be able to book Wizz Air flights starting November 1st. According to news from the airline, the new service will connect the two capitals three days a week.

Low-cost airline Wizz Air has launched flights from Riga International Airport to Dortmund, Germany as of September 1. The Wednesday and Sunda flights will embark via “Airbus 320” aircraft, according to news from the airline.

News from Ryanair competitor Wizz Air shows that company pivoting to compete with the world’s most profitable budget carrier. While the Budapest airline lost some 25 routes to Ryanair last year in the UK and Poland, the Hungarian carrier gained a lot of ground in Eastern Europe.

According to the Amadeus Air Traffic Travel Intelligence report recently released, budget flights in Europe and other regions are trending to dominate air travel. The report reveals low cost carriers taking up as much 14% of all air travel, while cheap flights in Europe account for 38% overall.
