Next month, analytics startup SnapShot GmbH will team up with the University of Surrey School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, to provide a 2 day course on hotel revenue management. According to the news, the new offering will focus on pricing, marketing and distribution for hotel businesses.
This new short course will take place for the first time on May 11th and 12th, at the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK. According to the press from SnapShot, the course will help hospitality people better undertand the role of data in strategic decision making, with its potential impacts on business performance. The head of the university’s Hospitality and Tourism school, Professor Graham Miller (top left), offered this via the press release:
“We are very excited about these new courses as a meaningful step toward higher education and business accepting respective roles for sustainability. Ongoing training at the university level, with businesses like SnapShot serving a practical R&D role, will lead to more perfect solutions down the road.”
SnapShot, one of the most successful and popular new startups at ITB Berlin for 2016 (see video above), is a well funded technology company focused on creating a unified analytics dashboard for hotels. Aside the business intelligence value of such an integration tool, one of the core constituencies of SnapShot GmbH, are educational programs role in fostering industry growth.
The class will be conducted by Sylvia Ganbert, Teaching Fellow at the University of Surrey; and Janel Clark, Head of Consultancy and Education at SnapShot; both experts in revenue management.
