Lonely Planet announced this week a photo ebook from 40 bloggers. Around the World with 40 Lonely Planet Bloggers is a free ebook representing the “love and passion for travel” expressed by members of the Lonely Planet community.
In 2008, Lonely Planet began to feature blogs from around the world in program called “Blogs We Like”, which highlighted the travels of its community members. For the book, they gathered 40 bloggers together along with photos of their travels in places like Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, Bolivia, and many others. Spanning 88 pages in all, the photo ebook includes stunning color photos on each page from diverse locations with captions explaining each, but in this case, a picture truly is worth a thousand words.
In addition to the captions, the only other text features each blogger’s name, their website, and some information about their travels. Each of the bloggers are true travelers, letting nothing stand in the way of their adventures. The end of the book lists each traveler, their blogs, small personal photos, and social media links.
This eclectic group, whose tales range across voluntourism, family travel, expat life, long term backpacking and more, was born out of Lonely Planet’s effort to broaden its content. Lonely Planet wanted to shine a light on the very best travel writing and photography on the planet.
The book itself is free to download in PDF format from the Lonely Planet website. It covers nearly 70 countries through the eyes of 40 experienced travelers who capture the world and all it has to offer in living color.
