Starting today and running through Sunday, December 23rd, the Biathlon World Championship in Nové Město na Moravě is the Czech Republic’s top biathlon event.
Recognized by the international sports public for its excellent organization and competitive atmosphere, this year’s event will take place under ideal conditions for cross-country skiers.
Competing this year are Johannes Thingnes Bø, the current leader of the World Cup among men; Kaisa Mäkäräinen, who was the very first winner of the World Cup event in Nové Město na Moravě, and a stellar group of worldwide champions.
The first Biathlon World Cup took place there in 2012, and a year later the resort successfully hosted the World Championship. The schedule for this year’s competition is as follows:

17:00 – men’s 10 km sprint
Friday 21/12
17:00 – women’s 7.5 km sprint
Saturday 22/12
15:00 – men’s 12.5 km pursuit
17:00 – women’s 10 km pursuit
Sunday 23/12
11:45 – men’s 15 km race with a collective start
14:30 – women’s 12.5 km race with a collective start
Friday 21/12
17:00 – women’s 7.5 km sprint
Saturday 22/12
15:00 – men’s 12.5 km pursuit
17:00 – women’s 10 km pursuit
Sunday 23/12
11:45 – men’s 15 km race with a collective start
14:30 – women’s 12.5 km race with a collective start
