In focus on Argo People today, we have Anne Dimon, owner and editor at Travel to Wellness, the first and only editorially-driven, online and mobile magazine that caters specifically to the growing number of wellness-minded travellers and the expanding spa and wellness travel niche.
Beyond self-definitions, Travel to Wellness is one of the best resources in the niche. The site features spa news, resort reviews, travel tips and special deals for luxury travelers and not only. An interesting category highlights the best culinary destinations in various cities around the US, with emphasis on how eating healthy is the root of wellness.
The spas category features airport spas at many destinations around the world, as well as spas for men, specialty spas, and Travel to Wellness top recommended spas. In most cases, these spas were personally tested and reviewed by Anne, whose broad experience in the field spans over 20 years. In fact, her background determined the birth of Travel to Wellness:
I have been a professional travel writer and industry journalist for the last 20 years. Almost eight years ago I launched the online magazine Travel to Wellness because I saw signs that “wellness tourism” would grow to be a huge travel niche, globally – which it has. It was the first – and I believe it still is – the only editorially-driven online magazine to cater to the growing wellness-minded traveller and those who want to be. It was very well received when it launched (by both the industry and consumers) and continues to be well received. We get an average of 19,000 unique visitors a month plus readers write to us often telling us how much they appreciate the wellness travel stories, spa reviews, travel advice and wellness everyday tips we offer them. Many also tell us they like the chances to win spa getaways and health and beauty products.
As the interest for Travel to Wellness grows, Anne’s plans for 2012 will include more features to enhance user experience on site, and even off site. With a number of tools to give better access to vacation and wellness packages, Travel to Wellness keeps its promise to its faithful readers, and may appeal to many others interested in this niche:
As we continue to survey readers, we find that an increasing number of them are telling us they want more wellness vacation packages and more wellness everyday tips and these are two of the features we plan to enhance in 2012. For instance, at the moment, anyone who subscribes to our Travel to Wellness newsletter will receive a printable version of 25 holistic nutrition tips. Anyone can sign up at www.traveltowellness.com/newsletter Additionally, we are working on a directory of wellness vacation packages and we will launch that in 2012 as well. We are also working on a number of partnerships. Wellness travel/tourism will continue to grow and Travel to Wellness will continue to be a vehicle to get news and information out to the consumer.
