Romania Tourism Nights Up Over Previous Year

The number of tourist to Romania climbed by more than 9% in 2012, this according to a report from the State Statistics Institute there. According to the report some 7.6 million tourists stayed at hotels and guest houses over the course of the year.

An interesting travel statistic for the Romanian tourism sector for 2012. It turns out some 218,000 Austrians visited Romania last year, a 14% increase over the previous numbers. The Austrian travelers also spent upwards of €52 million in the country, this according to Romania Insider.
