Every week we spotlight great hotels and destinations you may not come across via TripAdvisor or other travel portal. Sardinia is just such a vacation wonderland, often overlooked in favor or more visible and populist destinations. And, Port Cervo’s Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu (Small Luxury Hotels site) is a double shot of sometimes undiscovered travel bliss. Here’s how come.

Situated in one of those little Sardinia fjords enthusiasts are familiar with, Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu is a super secret luxury getaway along the aptly named Emerald Coast. This peaceful, yet fun packed hospitality spot boasts delightful sea views from either rooms or suites, its own private beach, three marvelous restaurants, a stunning swimming pool and a wonderful wellness centre too.
For guests not content with the private beach, pool, or marina, just a few moments away Grande Pevero Beach (below)awaits your sunbathing or family outing pleasure. The hotel even provides free shuttle service to and from one of Sardinia’s most famous beach attractions.

Designed to fit right into the Sardinia landscape, Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu resembles a typical local village with a few distinctions. Here guests can act like the locals, or alternatively head down to the famous Porto Cervo Yacht Club, designer boutiques and fabulous jewelry stores and pretend to be Aristotle Onassis himself. Why not? Just charter a yacht for the day and visit nearby Mortorio, Soffi, and Maddalena Islands, or just hunt all day or dolphins and the next umbrella drink for the matter.

Without taking off into sheer fantasy, I think you got the point. Sardinia, the seaside, and maybe the Island’s best family oriented beach accommodation.
