Coming to Budapest May 15th thru 18th, the Budapest Pálinka Festival is a unique gastronomic event for locals and guests of the city. Some 300 plus varietes of pálinka, a special Hungarian brandy, are the main attraction. Major producers offer their best distilled spirits.
The Spring fest should not be confused with the Sausage Festival in the fall features of the year. Locals take great pride in the limited edition Palinka made from cherries. The so-called ‘Pear Pálinka of the Year’, is a fabulously unique product from some of the best producers in Hungary.
Along with the libations, the city is full to the brim with food stalls to chow down on Hungarian sausages, cheeses and chocolates too. Entertainment and the sites of Budapest round out the festival. For more information, readers should visit the festival website here.
