Albania tourism, so negatively impacted by infrastructure and other inhibiting factors, has just hired high powered PR backup. The country is embarking on its largest tourism campaign to date in naming creative agency StrawberryFrog in collaboration with APCO Worldwide, as their agency of record (AOR).
According to the news, the two firms will cooperate for developing and deploying international ad and marketing campaigns geared to boost knowledge of Albania and the country
‘s vast touristic offers. Scott Goodson, CEO, co-founder, StrawberryFrog. had this to say about the news:
“We believe that Albania is the unknown pearl of the region. StrawberryFrog’s experience successfully branding Dubai Downtown, Emirates Airlines and Singapore have given us unique experience that will increase Albania’s rise to dominance.”
A so-called “Go On Your Own Way” campaign will highlight Albania’s diversity and national heritage, which are largely unheard of outside the region. StrawberryFrog will focus on creating a movement to drive Albania tourism, while APCO will focus on getting more commerce and direct investment into the country. Albania, like many other countries in the region, could do with a ramp up of the tourism trade. APCO and StrawberryFrog were winners of a competitive pitch process conducted by Albania. A good start for StrawberryFrog and APCO would be to make Albania tourism’s social media outreach in English, for native speaking investors outside the country.
Recent drug and other scandals have rocked the new and progressive Rama government where PR is concerned. APCO, one of the world’s most famous crisis PR firms, is deftly skilled at reversing such negative brand issues.
