One of the most popular places in Hungary is the lake of Balaton. It is probably the very obvious entries on the list of destinations as it is one of the biggest lakes in the central Europe with numerous villages scattered on the edges; the village and the villagers cater a lot to the tourists with the tiny Tihany and the beautiful Benedictine Abbey.
History in the town of Pecs
You will find this town towards the Croatian border which is one of the popular destinations in Hungary if you are looking for a cultural and a historical site. This place was also elected as one of the capitals of Europe for its immense culture in the year 2010.

Another highlight in Hungary is the river of Danube which is located in Budapest. You can take a cruise to this river; it takes you from Germany to Hungary and is worth the time.
