United Airlines will now offer service to Turkey with its new daily nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport.
Flight 904 is scheduled to depart Newark Liberty daily at 7:27 p.m., arriving in Istanbul at 12:20 p.m. the next day. Return flight, 905, is scheduled to depart Istanbul daily at 1:55 p.m., arriving in Newark at 6:02 p.m. the same day. Flight duration is 53 minutes eastbound and 11 hours, seven minutes westbound.
James Mueller, United’s vice president, Atlantic & Pacific Sales shares his enthusiasm for the new offering: “We are delighted to add Istanbul to our global route network. Customers in the U.S. and Turkey will benefit from increased travel options with this new service.”
The service is offered with a three-cabin Boeing 767-300 aircraft, which includes a total of 183 seats – six in United Global First, 26 in United BusinessFirst and 151 in United Economy, including 67 Economy Plus seats. Later this summer, United intends to fly this route with its newly-configured Boeing 767-300, which includes 30 seats in United BusinessFirst, 49 in Economy Plus and 135 in Economy. Customers traveling in BusinessFirst in the enhanced aircraft receive flat-bed seats, a 15.4″ touchscreen monitor with on-demand inflight audio/video content, electrical and USB outlets, iPod jack and a five-course meal with fine wines. Customers in Economy Plus receive more recline and leg room than Economy seats. Each Economy Plus and Economy seat in this upgraded aircraft includes a 9″ touchscreen on-demand inflight entertainment system, with all Economy rows having access to electrical outlets.
United’s MileagePlus members earn double award miles when flying the new service. To qualify, MileagePlus members are required to book and complete qualifying roundtrips by September 30, 2012 in booking classes F, A, J, C, D, Y, B, or M.
