According to an announcement the Chairman of the Union of hotel owners of the resort “Sunny beach”, Veselin Nalbantov Bulgarian resorts are looking for hospitality workers from Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.
As a general rule, workers at resorts in Bulgaria end up being better trained than what is normally required owing in part to the influx of qualified people from the aforementioned countries. Currently, there is a deficit in the number of these workers and from the EU for the coming season.
In the past year on almost all the seaside resorts in Bulgaria saw a shortage of qualified personnel. It was rumored that in the summer 2016 season alone, the industry had a deficit of some 2,000 vacancies. As expected, this facet saw a diminishing of the quality of service provided guests, according to the executive.
The Sunny Beach Resort, Bulgaria’s most popular seaside stay, was voted last year the world’s cheapest tourist destination by the international travel portal Hoppa. Despite the resort’s ultra positive accolades, negative news has affected its appeal. Last year a gun battle at Sunny Beach, left notorious gangster Dimitar Zhelyazkov seriously wounded and one of his associates dead. News of officials conducting round-the-clock policing of the beach irked hoteliers for its negative PR tilt.
