Hotel Lone on Croatia’s Adriatic – A Lone Design Wonder

A fantastic new hotel opens in Rovinj, the Hotel Lone is the latest gem situated along Croatia’s Adriatic shores. A bit of an architectural masterpiece, this collaboration between Croatian architectural firm 3LHD, and conceptual experts Studio Numen is nothing short of stunning.

Facilities galore, cutting edge looks, and the crisp newness only fresh linen can provide, visitors to this part of Croatia have a treat in store. Wellness center, sauna, you name it, Hotel Lone is about pampering guests. The list of integrated features and accommodations is almost too extensive to list. The vision of Silvije Novak, one of the region’s most famous architects, Hotel Lone is supposedly inspired by the old hotels along the Adriatic back in the day – the 70’s to be exact.

Owned by Croatian hotel company Maistra Inc., Hotel Lone is made for the conference set supposedly, but for the vacation set, the places oozes luxuriant charm.  Only about 35 km from the airport in Pula, Rovinj is a stunningly scenic spot all its own too. As you can see via the photos in the article, some may find it hard to tear themselves away from the hotel’s spacious and luxuriant interior though. “Let me show you to your room now.”

We don’t often rave about hotel design and function here at Argo, maybe we should. Silvije Novak, and the conceptual peeps at  Studio Numen, are simply brilliant. Okay, so sleeping under the crispest of sheets is not all you want from a hotel experience? We understand. Th setting for this hotel was well chosen too. Located on a hillside within the the Zlatni Rt forest, Hotel Lone presides over the Istrian peninsula, providing a feeling of both seclusion and inclusion. The effect of this location is actually gripping as well.

Two gastronomically wondrous restaurants, a sushi slash seafood bar, 3 more cocktail bars, a nightclub, wellness features and treatments that are out of this world – two indoor pools, a child’s and adult’s outdoor pool, the beach, I could go on and on. Okay, I will; a Beauty zone with face & body care, 8 multi-functional therapy areas, 2 Finnish saunas, a Turkish sauna, “Sunken rooms” (with different types of hydromassage), a relaxation zone, even a so called vitality bar. And, the hotel’s conference center complexion is fill out with a capacity for over 3,000 attendees.

The most interesting aspect of this new hotel, from our perspective, is the intimacy the design team has fashioned into a massively effective conference hotel. Most such places have the look and feel of airplane hangars. The Hotel Lone, as you can tell from their images, is retro – modern chic, muti-utility, ergonomic and aesthetic at the same time. Woodsy intimacy and seclusion, atop 21st Century edgy design. And you can book a room for about €100 per night. Check that, that’s €102.40 with breakfast. I just sold myself. Great job Maistra.
