Nada and Zlatko Salaj are celebrating Christmas with thousands of lights every year, making their farmhouse in Čazma one of the favorite Christmas attractions in Croatia year after year. This Christmas story in Čazma begun December 16,2011, and will last till January 8, 2012 – plenty of time to see the lights, and enjoy authentic hospitality.
What’s special about the Christmas story at the Salaj family, is that they add more and more lights each Christmas. This year, they ignited over a million and one hundred thousand lights, and the year to come even more.
The Christmas Story in Čazma offers much more than a show of colored lights: it’s all about enjoying the spirit of the holidays. There are many attractions for children as well, including a sleight with a reindeer, penguins, and even meetings with good old Santa Claus.
Adults and children alike will enjoy touring the estate, and sampling some of the specialties: tees for kids, mulled wine for grownups, accompany traditional sausages, pancakes and Christmas cookies. For those who want a souvenir, environmentally-friendly gifts are available for purchase.
The light show can be witnessed daily from 16:30 to 21:00 – and the ticket price is 20.00 kuna. Entrance if free for children under 5. The Salaj residence is located at Milana Novačića 13, 43240 Čazma. More information (in Croatian) is available at bozicnabajka.com.
