Constanta Travel Fair: Coming in May

Running from May 17 through May 19th, the 2013 IInd Travel Fair will take place in Romanian coastal resort city Constanta. Organized by the city’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation and Agriculture of Constanta (CCINA), as well as the National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT), and in partnership with the Federation of Associations for the Promotion of Tourism (FAPT), this year’s event will focus on original tourism.

These days Brasov is the host of a special sports event: the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2013 which also has competitions taking place in Rasnov and Predeal until February, 22. There are eight disciplines in which young athletes participate: Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Biathlon, Ice Hockey, Figure Skating, Short Track, Ski Jumping and Snowboarding.

Lake Viljandi was the scene for this year’s Kuldkala, or Estonian Gold Fish Festival where thousands angle for some of the world’s most valuable fishes. Reminiscent of the movie Armageddon, meteors rained smaller destruction on the Chelyabinsk region of Russia this morning. Bizarre footage from would be citizen photo-journalists revealed fragments of space debris plummeting to Earth. Reports of some injuries and light damages have emerged as well.

Tourest 2013 Comes to Tallinn

The 22nd annual Tallinn tourism fest, TOUREST 2013, opens on Sunday at the Estonian Fairs Center. Scheduled to run from the today thru Sunday, the fair showcases local and regional tourism, as well as new modes of travel.

Prague’s Stvanice Island to Get Facelift

In Prague the announcement that a new design competition is underway to the reconstruction of Stvanice Island was good news. The Czech Chamber of Architects (CCA) is preparing the competition which will reveal the best proposals for rejuvenating the Island. The will cost a reported €500 million euro, according to estimates.

Estonia’s Hotel Noorus Beach Spa Coming 2014

News from Estonia tells of Hotel Noorus coming there as early as Spring of next year. Estonian engineering and development firm AS Merko Ehitus Eesti, has set the cost of the spa center at Narva-Jõesuu at just shy of €13 million euro.

Kuwaiti Vacationers Loving Bosnia Herzegovina

According to the Arab Times, some 7,000 Kuwaitis have been vacationing in Bosnia Herzegovina since June. Also the number of vacationers from Kuwait is expected to increase to 17,000 by the end of the year.
