Green Culture Conference and Fest – Montenegro
Starting May 11th, as part of the Green Culture EXPEDITION, this three day event marks the official launch of Green Culture’s 2016 program. International leaders and activists gather on the 19th anniversary of Montenegro’s independence, to discuss how this budding nation state can develop a sound ecological policy. Organized by KRUG London and the Green Culture World team, the festival will offer engaging seminars, hands-on workshops and show case entertainment on Ada Bojana, an inspiring natural setting near Ulcinj.

Fishackathon 2016 – Batumi, Georgia
From April 22-24th, the Fishackathon is focused on helping to solve the worldwide over-fishing problem. Some of the world’s most brilliant minds gather in Batumi to foster the development of usable technology solutions to address the problem. Fishackathon 2016 takes place Earth Day Weekend in over 40 cities around the world. Fishackathon will bring together computer programmers who will #codeforfish, find innovative ways to collect and analyze data, and find solutions to our world’s fisheries and oceans issues. The Big Cleanup – All Over Latvia
All across Latvia, environmentalists will gather in various cities and towns to collaborate on April 23rd. This ongoing Latvian effort has a duality of purpose. First and foremost, the initiative is aimed at making Latvia a sustainable ecological model, while at the tame time increasing the international image of the country. Employees of the various municipalities, along with schools, associations and organizations of residents, have already begun setting their energies on the task of making Latvia the cleanest country in the Baltics.

Serbia Goes Green
This conference on April 22nd is dedicated to sustainable development and environmental protection. Organised by Diplomacy & Commerce Magazine, the Earth Day event is being held at the Hotel Metropol Palace. H E Krister Asp, the Swedish Ambassador to Serbia will open the conference.

Earth Day Instruction: Tomsk, Russia
Primary school teacher, Marina Vitalyevna Kislitsyna teaches students and visitors the history and goals of Earth Day via Class Hour Earth Day (in Russian). With a goal of developing an environmental literacy, and to foster respect for nature and out planet, this Tomsk region event helps students learn about the flora of the Tomsk region, on the medicinal properties of plants, and rules we should follow to live in harmony with the planet. The program uses poetry, biology, chemistry and technology to help infuse a higher appreciation of our natural world.
