Let’s face it, when it comes to real digital engagement, some online efforts rock and some don’t even roll well. This short blurb is about a travel related entity that should be the template for all national tourism ministries – Slovenia’s Tourist Board. Talk about the razor edge of connectivity, how about eyes, ears and shouts everywhere?
We have run across Slovenia’s superb travel outreach several times here at Argo, just yesterday a story via one of their press releases showed readers still more Lake Bled enjoyment via the World Rowing Championships coming there. We have even bragged about this organization before, but until we scrutinized their outreach more closely, even Argo did not discover just how “wired” these guys are. Broadcasting via SM is one thing, listening is another, they are listening to their channels (more later on this).
Like we said before, Maja Pak (seen above with Professor Janez Bogataj), Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, is showing most of Europe how to mind the business of her country’s online presence. My only con for her team’s efforts would be to ensure my the login for high res images they sent me – well, that it lasts until I can brag about the connectivity of the service ;)
Just look at their website, surf to the various networks, and if you are say – the Russian Federation Ministry of Sport and Tourism for instance, emulating Slovenia might even be considered a necessity. Sorry guys, we’re just saying – it’s all about access and marketing and Slovenia rocks – Russia online does not. It’s fairly pitiful if you think about it (all you ministers reading this) Slovenia has like 2 million people and is smaller than New Hampshire in the US! And Russia is not the only Eastern European government lacking either…
