For those in the travel and tourism industry still doubting the power of social media to convert, Thomas Cook is sending out its latest holiday offers via Twitter in what it claims is an ‘industry first’.
@TCOffers tweets the best holiday and other offers via the various Thomas Cook enterprises. According to the news from the leading agency, customers can even ask for deals, the tweets automatically being sent to the @ThomasCookCares team. As part of the Company’s latest customer experience strategy, Thomas Cook Group plc created ‘Holidays to go!’, the first in a Group-wide initiative empowering the @TCOffers verified Twitter to engage with deal seekers instantly.
Harriet Green , CEO of Thomas Cook Group plc @harrietgreen1, had this to add about the new initiative:
“Harnessing digital technology for exciting new applications like ‘@TCOffers’ helps our customers get information in seconds about our latest holiday destinations and offers, wherever and whenever.”
From an expert’s viewpoint here at Argo, while the PR speak is evident in Ms. Green’s commentary in the announcement, here twitter engagement tells of social media wherewithal. We’ve been evangelizing these channels now for half a decade, it’s nice to see worthwhile companies like TC engaging more and more. The video at article end explains more.
