Konstantinos and Iliana Kaloutsakis plan yet another bold venture with the Hersonissos Group. Renowned for its successful portfolio of high-end resorts, the family is adding to its collection a five-star hotel that promises to elevate the region’s reputation even further.
The Hersonissos Group currently oversees six resorts in Hersonissos and one luxury establishment on Santorini. The new five-star hotel will strengthen their presence in Crete while showcasing their commitment to investing in local tourism. The plans, recently approved by the Hersonissos Municipality, outline a 224-bed complex positioned in Ano Sarantari, within Limenas Hersonissou. The location, owned by KORI S.A., is a key piece of this ambitious puzzle.
What the New Hotel Will Offer
Set on land spanning 28.04 acres, the project will feature a thoughtfully designed complex of 18 buildings, covering a construction area of 6,753 square meters. Here’s a closer look at the development highlights:
- Central Hub: A main building situated at the heart of the property, acting as the nucleus for guest services and amenities.
- Eco-Friendly Systems: Plans include an on-site wastewater treatment facility and underground water and fire-fighting reservoirs.
- Ample Green Spaces: Thoughtfully curated landscaping will create serene zones to enhance guest relaxation.
- Parking Made Easy: Dedicated parking areas located on the western side of the property.
- Pools for Everyone: Luxurious communal swimming pools, alongside private options for select accommodations.
Strategic Layout and Thoughtful Design
The hotel’s layout speaks to modern luxury, balanced with environmental awareness. Key infrastructure elements, like wastewater systems and absorbent trenches for treated water disposal, ensure minimal ecological footprint. Private and communal swimming pools offer an elevated guest experience, while the surrounding green areas bring a sense of calm to the whole development.
Each section of the property serves a distinct function. On the east side, auxiliary hotel buildings and the wastewater treatment facility will be located. The north side will house additional structures and landscaped recreation areas. To the south, the absorbent trenches will take care of treated water, consistent with the project’s eco-conscious approach. These thoughtful details prove that the Hersonissos Group is not just building a hotel but is creating an integrated experience that fits seamlessly into the local environment.
