The tourism season is about to kick off here on the magical island paradise of Crete. Starting in late March people who have been subjected to months and months of dreary, cold, and wet weather will jet off to guess where? This is the island of Zeus, the Minotaur, and thousands of miles of beaches. Here’s a selection of amatuer GoPro videos that preview for you the reasons Crete is one of the world’s top tourism destinations.
We Were In Love With the Sun 2016
This YouTube video by user Diana Arsene, who’s a flight attendant from Germany. It’s one of the most awesome GoPro productions by an amateur ever. Watch and then pack your bags.
Amazing Crete from Above
This compilation of beautiful places and drone footage of Crete and Santorini from 2017 shows this magic Aegean playground from the aerial perspective. Features scenes include; Balos Lagoon, Elafonissi Beach, Kedradasos, Chania, and Stavros. Thanks to user Mariusz Sarota for this wonderful perspective.
This Is Just Sweet Crete
My favorite among in the sea of Crete trips shown on GoPro devices is this wonderful reminder of what being in love on paradise is all about. Tender, magical, and ultimately exciting in the way me and my wife Mihaela experience it every day. Thanks for this fanciful and creative video Mariarosaria De Luca. This is just sweet Crete.
The Stuff of Legends from Above
This GoPro drone and handheld adventure by George Frantzeskakis features one of Crete’s most remote and fascinating regions. Sfakia is unique for its landscapes and for the people who have never been conquered. This is one of the few places in Greece that have never been fully occupied by foreign powers. But the locals are the kind of people who, once they trust you they’ll never ever let you down. Check out this fantastic boat trip I am dying to take my son Paul Jules and my wife Mihaela on this spring.
We Live Here
In this GoPro video production Sébastien Dépréaux has done a fantastic job of attempting the impossible. Showing you all the magic there is here is a feat no Hollywood producer would even attempt. Really. Thanks for these amazing shots Seb, and from me, Miheala, and Paul… all we can say is; “We live here.”
I leave you with a great film, film maker Maciek R , and an appeal… even if you have to “inch” your way here, I recommend you come home to KRETA!
