Coming up August 7th and 8th at the Bethlehem Gate in Heraklion, the Puppet Theater of Crete will debut a new summer production featuring a legendary start starting at 21:00.
This puppet theater is noted for its provocative and laughter evoking large puppets, as well as for special lighting techniques that add immeasurably to the shows. You never saw a three-person troop produce more laughs and melodrama.
The latest production is all about subversion and music, a contemporary folk satire with timeless messages conveyed through the Puppet Theater’s (Kouklo Theater’s) puppet mastery. For the first time, the mythical Karagiozis or Karaghiozis will play out his mischievous ways beneath the Venetian walls of Heraklion.
The show lasts about 55 minutes and costs only €6 euro. You can register your interest via the puppet theater’s Facebook event here. You can also call 697 798 7248 or email info@koyklotheatro.gr
