Edinburgh celebrates fine cuisine this weekend, at Holyrood Park, where visitors will meet Michelin-starred and top chefs, who will prepare their finest dishes for the audiences live on the stage at the Chefs Theatre. A celebration of fine food and drink and culinary talent, the Foodies Festival lasts three whole days, from Friday, August 12 to Sunday, August 14 (opening times Friday 12th: 12 noon – 7pm, Saturday 13th: 10am – 7pm, and Sunday 14th: 11am – 6pm).
The festival is more than a show: it’s an opportunity to taste premier dishes at no cost (other than the weekend pass, valued at £36), and also to learn how to prepare these dishes. You can test, sample and buy ingredients from local producers selling fresh seasonal produce, specialty foods and drinks.
There will be signature recipes to try, from Scotland’s leading restaurants, accompanied by seasonal cocktails. Even children will have fun participating in cooking with kids master classes. An ideal family escape this weekend, the Foodies Festival tops with live entertainment for young and old.
