Bad weather is forcing ferry operators to change schedules on routes linking Crete with Piraeus and the western Peloponnese, and some port calls are canceled on October 13 and 14.
- ANEK LINES is modifying the Heraklion–Piraeus schedules of Asterion II and Ariadne from October 13–15.
- The ships will skip Serifos, while the Heraklion–Piraeus crossings will operate according to the announced schedules.
- Passengers traveling to or from Serifos must change their tickets.
- The Aqua Jewel is also operating with modified schedules between Piraeus, Kythira, Antikythira and Kissamos.
Heraklion–Piraeus Sailings Continue
ANEK LINES announced itinerary changes for Asterion II and Ariadne because of deteriorating weather.
From Tuesday, October 13 through Thursday, October 15, the ships will not call at Serifos.
The main Heraklion–Piraeus crossings, however, are scheduled to operate normally:
Tuesday, October 13
- Piraeus departure: 21:00
- Heraklion arrival: 06:15
- No ticket change is required for passengers traveling between Piraeus and Heraklion.
- The Serifos call is canceled, and affected passengers must modify their tickets.
Wednesday, October 14
- Heraklion departure: 21:00
- Piraeus arrival: 06:15
- No ticket change is required for the main route.
- The Serifos call is canceled.
Thursday, October 15
- Piraeus departure: 21:00
- Heraklion arrival: 06:15
- Again, the Heraklion–Piraeus sailing remains scheduled, while Serifos is skipped.
Passengers affected by the Serifos cancellation should contact the relevant ticketing office or operator regarding the required change.
Aqua Jewel Also Changes Course
The Aqua Jewel has also announced schedule modifications for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 13–14, citing adverse weather conditions along its route.
The revised itinerary includes calls at Kythira, Kissamos, Antikythira and Gytheio, with timings adjusted throughout the two days.
On Tuesday, the vessel is scheduled to leave Piraeus at 10:00, reach Kythira at 16:30, and continue to Kissamos at 20:15.
On Wednesday, the schedule includes Kythira, Gytheio, Antikythira, and Kissamos before the vessel returns toward Piraeus.
The key point for passengers is simple: Crete routes are generally not canceled, but individual port calls and timings have changed.
Weather conditions in the Aegean and surrounding seas can change quickly, so passengers traveling during the affected period should check their sailing with the operator before heading to the port.
