Crete’s Nature Loves Courage Festival 2019

The Nature Loves Courage Festival Sougia, Crete

The “Nature Loves Courage Festival 2019” at Sougia kicks off June 7th and 8th, in the far south of Chania Prefecture on Crete island. This year’s event will feature 13 DJs and 30 plus hours of amazing music.

A few of the performers slated for the fest include; Abyss X (SHXME), Aquarian, Aurora Halal, DJ PayPal, NKISI, KILBOURNE, JULIANA HUXTABLE, and Ziúr, to name a few.

The Nature Loves Courage Festival 2019 is a two-day event taking place at some of the most astonishing locations in the world, including this amazing village in Sfakia in the south of Crete. For a mini-preview, here is Aurora Halal live at the Nuits Sonores Festival 2017.

Inspired by the widely known quote by philosopher, anthropologist and enlightened earth child Terence McKenna, “Nature Loves Courage proposes a unique and intimate music and festival experience. Trust me, if you’ve never visited this part of amazing Crete, being part of this fest will be all the more memorable for the surrounding nature and reflective resonance of the place. I was there in 2014, and this part of the island has a special magnetism, for sure.

With a very limited capacity of 350 people, the festival’s venue is located close to the beach and suggests a relaxed and profound experience away from the usual club/ warehouse/ institutional setting where line ups of this nature are usually witnessed.

There will be no tickets at the door, so those interested are encouraged to purchase online or in limited numbers at the Lotus Seaside Hotel on the beach at Sougia. Early bird tickets are already sold out.

Located on the south-west coast of Crete, the small village of Sougia stands out for its long, beautiful, pebble beach and its laid-back atmosphere.

With only 150 inhabitants who make a living from fishing and tourism, the village offers a completely tranquil retreat whilst being surrounded by a multitude of accommodation, restaurants and local convenience stores.
