Spring is the ideal time to enjoy San Francisco’s iconic cable cars. To celebrate, the city released today new CityPASS cards, that give travelers the opportunity to save nearly half off admission to the city’s top attractions and enjoy a week’s worth of unlimited cable car rides.
A 2011 San Francisco CityPASS costs $69 for adults (value $129.90) and $39 for kids, 5-12. In addition to the 47 percent savings, CityPASS allows holders to bypass most of the attractions’ main-entrance ticket lines.
San Francisco CityPASS booklets contain six tickets:
- Muni & Cable Car: 7-Day Passport with unlimited rides on Muni cable cars, street cars, and buses for 7 consecutive days (compare: a single regular-fare cable car ride is $5);
- California Academy of Sciences admission to 4-in-one attraction (natural history museum, aquarium, rain forest, planetarium) including exhibits and 3D theater;
- Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise Adventure one-hour narrated cruise (sails under Golden Gate Bridge);
- San Francisco Museum of Modern Art admission;
- Aquarium of the Bay admission;
- Option Ticket, with choice of either Exploratorium admission – or de Young Museum and Legion of Honor – admission to both (if visited on same day).
San Francisco CityPASS can be purchased online at CityPASS.com or at any of the CityPASS attractions. It is valid for nine consecutive days, beginning with the first day of use.
