A new campaign from the creators of Incredible Crete invites winter travelers to this amazing and diverse island.

The Region of Crete has launched a new online campaign promoting authentic winter experiences on Greece’s biggest island. With a spotlight on nature, history, and architecture, Crete’s new promotional video by the renowned director Thodoris Papadoulakis aims to motivate modern travelers seeking authentic life experiences.

Incredible Crete and Region of Crete organizers are now promoting the island as worthy wintertime destinations, but they also want travelers to know that tourism is part of the culture of the island too. The new video invites travelers “to touch, discover and experience the mountainous villages of Crete, the unique flavors of Cretan cuisine, and the secret paths of Cretan land”.

Released in three versions of different duration and in five languages –English, Greek, French, Russian and German, the stunning presentation is part of an award-winning larger campaign from 2014 entitled, “Crete – The Island Inside You.” A line from the video reminds us of the soul of the Cretan people, and how mighty Zeus sends all strangers to be welcomed.

“In Crete, the stranger is still the unknown god. All doors and hearts open before him.”

It’s nice to see that the Crete Region is thinking along the same lines I am. Just a week ago I suggested the GNTO reboot these video campaigns to expand the season on this magical island. It seems the video was already ´published back in August before I wrote my story, and now the new campaign has been announced. Now if the world just sees it.
