Bucharest Invites You to Dance at EUROPAfest in May

EUROPAfest is an international music festival, the one of its kind in Europe featuring four different genres: jazz, blues, pop and classical music. The event takes place from May 4 to 19 in Bucharest gathering over 300 musicians from 45 countries ready to rouse the capital’s musical and cultural scene.

Already at its 19th edition, EUROPAfest means live quality music, famous performers, diversity, fresh artists, originality, ambiance, competitions, and worlds of fun.

May 4 is committed to celebrate Europe’s Day with an excellent opening concert held at Odeon Theatre, where some of the most prominent artists will enchant audiences with jazz, blues, pop and classical music. The following days will run on beautiful rhythms of jazz, blues and pop, with famous European musicians such as Vincent’s Chair Trio, Xavier Dotras Trio (May 5), Arnesen Blues Band (May 6) and Mandolin Brothers performing on Bucharest’s traditional concert scenes, but also in surprising unconventional venues.

Bucharest International Jazz Competition, the event’s first contest will take place between 12 and 19 May. Being ranked as one of the finest Jazz competitions in Europe, the fair is open to bands and vocalists from all over the world.

Exclusively dedicated to one of the most elegant and tender musical instruments, Jeunesses International Music Competition will present 138 violinists from 38 countries performing in front of a specialized jury. The section dedicated to pianists was postponed for the next year.

Another special section of EUROPAfest is the Caffe Festival (May 5- 18), a delightful mixture of events designed to bring musicians closer to the public.
