DonauFEST 2013 Kicks Off in Bratislava

Bratislava, the beautiful capital of Slovakia, will host one of the most interesting events of the Fall: DonauFEST 2013.

The event will begin, on the waves of Jazz, Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 16:30 local hour. With stellar concerts, and the participation of the mayor of Bratislava, the first day will introduce to the public the participating Danube Region countries.

Friday, September 6, the festival will continue with a presentation of the traditional gastronomies of the Danube countries, and tasting events. For kids, there is a special programme at the Stilts Theatre. There’s even a workshop devoted to the Balkan traditional dances at 20:30, that invites audiences to participate.

On Saturday, the festival continues with a stand-up paddle show on the Danube, a rally and even a marathon. Concerts and culinary delights remain on the programme.

The final day of the festival will bring an interesting cooking class for children and adults, and the closing ceremony with fireworks and surprises.

Participating countries include Slovakia, Austria, Serbia and Hungary. The event takes place at EUROVEA Galeria, in Bratislava.
