Prague Museum Night Scheduled September 14

The Prague Museum Night (Pražská muzejní noc) was initially scheduled for June, 2013, but needed to be rescheduled because of the heavy floods that crippled the capital this Summer. With things back on track, the city is treating her visitors to one of the most entertaining cultural events of the year. The Prague Museum Night will take place on Saturday, September 14.

This is an occasions for visitors to see Prague’s most treasured cultural gems free of charge, and in a different light. Even public transport connecting the participating museums will be free of charge. You can look forward to lectures, concerts, film screenings, competitions and other interesting events, and even a rich programme for young visitors, so bring your children along.

There are 38 institutions participating, and obviously, you will not have time for all. Plan ahead, by choosing your favorites from the official website. The institutions included in this edition of the Prague Museum Night (Pražská muzejní noc) are: Anderle Gallery, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, City Gallery Prague, City of Prague Museum, Coffee Museum, Emilie Palickova Gallery, Faculty of Architecture, CTU in Prague, Gallery of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Goethe-Institut, House of National Minorities, Jewish Museum in Prague, Karel Zeman Museum, Langhans – People in Need Center, MeetFactory, Municipal Library of Prague, Museum and Archive of Popular Music, Museum Montanelli, Museum of Czech Police, Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, National Gallery in Prague, National Library of Technology, National Museum, National Museum of Agriculture Prague, National Technical Museum, New Town Hall, Ponrepo Cinema, Postal Museum of the Czech Post, Prague Botanic Garden, Prague Hlahol, Prague Public Transport Museum, Round-House Zlíchov, Technical and Documentary Museum of Prague Power Supply, The Chemistry Gallery, The Military History Institute Prague, The Museum of Czech Literature, The National Pedagogical Museum and Library of J. A. Comenius in Prague, Vaclav Havel Library, and the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument.

The event is organized by the National Museum, the Prague Public Transport Company and the Czech Association of Museums and Galleries in cooperation with other institutions, and co-funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the municipal authorities of Prague.
