Ohio’s Sweetest Walk, the Butler County Donut Trail, Welcomes New Visitors

Ohio’s Sweetest Walk, the Butler County Donut Trail

Can you resist a donut that has the appeal of Willy Wonka’s magical factory? Chocolate glaze, colorful sprinkles, and the taste of a hundred pixie fairies’ dust on a ring of deep-fried dough? Just go there and walk on the sweetest path you’ve ever walked on: put on your ruby slippers and follow the Butler County Donut Trail. They’ll even give you a fun T to wear when you hike, or better yet, “taste” the trail, and you’ll find some of the bright green of tiny bits of the sugar-coated sprinkles embedded in cotton under the playful logo of the trail. Yes, it’s their 2017 promotional T-shirt design, officially released a day after Valentine’s Day, on February 15.

We learned about this fun Ohio trail from Amanda Ensinger, Senior Associate at insPiRe PR group, who has a passion for delicious bites. Or for Ohio. Or for the Butler County. I have a passion for things named “Butler,” so I am sold. But don’t take my word for it.

The Ohio Butler County reports a mind-blowing $1 million in economic impact brought in by the Butler County Donut Trail. How’s that for a slice of fried gold? 4,700 people from 39 states and 6 countries completed the Donut Trail in 2016, which begs the question: how many can we expect for a 2017 report, when the perks are so sweet? And onto the T… you can only get it provided that you follow the rules:

Visitors can experience the Butler County Donut Trail by collecting the secret codes and filling in an official passport at each of the required locations. Once complete, each passport can be redeemed for a complimentary official Donut Trail T-shirt.

The Butler County Donut Trail dares you to “Travel, Find, Devour,” in 2017. They also offer a map and passport for your adventure this year. You’ll have to conquer all their donut shop stops with your passport for a T. Personally, I’d take the challenge just for the donuts. The ball is in your court. What are you going to do?
