At Fagotto in Chania the Exhibition “To Me You’re A Man”

In Chania until October 31st, Fagotto Protasis presents the exhibition, “To Me You’re A Man” by Chania artist Vaso Protopapadaki from Chania. 

The exhibition is a dark set of works that explore the limits of humanity in line with the theme expressed in the film Freaks (1932, Tod Browning ). For those unfamiliar with this famous cult film, Freaks was a pre-Code horror film many considered too shocking to be released. The movie was so controversial many scenes were cut, and the work cost the talented Browning his career. The original version no longer even exists. The Freaks climactic scene was ranked 15th on Bravo TV’s list of the 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

The venue for the exhibition is one of the oldest and best-known jazz bars in the city. Fagotto is located in a wonderful 15th-century Venetian building at Aggelou (Αγγέλου) 16 near the Maritime Museum of old town.
