Agoda Goes Mobile with Free iPhone App

Agoda, the leading online booking portal in Asia, has announced a new iPhone application. Free for download, the app allows Agoda customers to view and book up-to-the-minute rates at more than 150,000 properties around the world.

Instant confirmation allows Agoda’s mobile customers freedom from worry and greater flexibility than what most OTA’s can offer at present. According to Agoda’s news, the app now gives travelers instant mobile access to some 18,000 hotels in Asia, and special “mobile” promotions not offered elsewhere.

The Agoda iPhone app allows their clients to search via the smart phone for hotels by city, or at their current location. GPS based booking features will soon be the industry standard, as news from  Stay.com revealed earlier this Summer. No matter where you are on the globe, finding services and booking them should be as easy as 1-2-3, and Agoda’s new booking tool illustrates this capability well.

Interestingly too, according to my count, the Agoda app is available in 37 languages too. As you can see in the screen above, users of the apps can view images, sort, check current location, and perform a wide variety of tasks from the convenience of their smart phone. Refining searches, reading reviews and details, and even getting directions in unfamiliar territory are possible.

For last minute hotel booking (probably other stuff later on), these kinds of smart phone utilities will soon become indispensable. Just imagine your confirmation delivered to your inbox, on the phone, to present to the desk clerk. President of agoda.com Mr. Robert Rosenstein, had this to add about the new application:

“Today’s traveler is mobile-ready, which makes travel so much easier if there’s no computer or WiFi station nearby and you need to book a hotel. People already know that agoda.com is a source for the best price on hotels that aren’t available through other channels and with our new app customers can access those hotels via their iPhone.”

Argo suggests Agoda - They're building a very nice booking portal over there

For those unfamiliar with Agoda, the online booking company specializes in low price bookings for travelers from around the world. Agoda.com is a part of the Priceline.com network of companies supporting over 150,000 hotels worldwide.
