Venetian Seaplane Tradition Re-ignited with Seawings

The first seaplane tour of Venice since the 1900’s took flight at the end of June 24 – a lifetime experience for Seawings passengers who were picked up in style at San Marco square by boat, transported to the glistening shores of San Clemente Island and then taken over the Venetian lagoon by seaplane.

A historic moment for both the city and Seawings, the seaplane tours could become one of the main attractions in Venice. Organizers hope that the tour will help visitors gain a unique perspective of Venice

“To be part of the first commercial seaplane flight in Venice in a hundred years is a true privilege,” said Stuart Wheeler, Jet Ops Europe Ltd Director, in a press statement.

The guests aboard the seaplane were served refreshing bellinis after the flight, to top the experience they described as “movie-like:”

“The whole experience is like a dream right down to the they served us after the flight! The tour beautifully showcases the Venetian landscape and the boat ride and palace hotel are like from a movie,” – said one guest.

The Seawings experience leaves its guests in awe as they are whisked to 1500 feet past some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, for memories that last a lifetime. Flights depart daily, every hour from 9H30 to 18H00. Leaving every 30 minutes, as well as a choice of various tour options, Seawings caters to the needs of the individuals, groups, corporate, incentives, tourists and residents.
