World’s Biggest Best Western Opens in Russia

In hotel news from Moscow, Best Western International opens their first hotel in Russia. The Best Western Vega Hotel & Convention Centre in Moscow, it not only the chain’s first Russia entry, but the franchise’s largest hotel ever.

The Vega Hotel in Moscow, originally built for the 1980 Olympics, was remodeled in 2007. A massive hotel with accommodations for nearly 1,000 guests, the property features no less than three restaurants, a coffee shop, a lobby bar, 15 separate conference spaces, a spa, and a business center, among its many amenities. Turkish bath, Finnish sauna, and centrally located in Izmaylovo Village, the New Best Western is a short walk or metro ride to anywhere in Moscow. In a PR Newswire press release, Valery Maximov, GM of the Best Western Vega Hotel, had this to add:

“As Russia continues to attract more business and leisure travelers, we felt it was a perfect time to join Best Western’s global family of hotels and take on its internationally recognized name and reputation. Our property has tremendous appeal to corporate and leisure travelers, and we’re confident that the brand’s loyalty club, Best Western Rewards, and sales programs will help attract travelers globally.”

Best Western continues to offer new hotels in Eastern Europe, having just opened their Best Western Flowers hotel in Chisinau, Moldova, and one in Sevastopol Hotel in Sevastopol, Ukraine back in 2010. Best Western is the largest chain of hotels in the world with over 4,000 properties worldwide.
