Tripbod, a travel community that lets travelers connect with local experts, has been acquired by TripAdvisor.
The service, which delivers users recommendations direct from local experts, now joins the world’s most powerful ratings and recommendation communicty, according to the news from TA. Tripbod employees will stay on to work in TripAdvisor’s London, UK offices. Adam Medros, senior vice president, Global Product, TripAdvisor, offered comment:
“The Tripbod team understands the important role a strong community plays in helping travelers plan and have the perfect trip. Both companies have a shared vision when it comes to delivering on that promise. We are pleased to welcome Tripbod to TripAdvisor as we work together on future developments.”
This is the second acquisition in less than a week for TripAdvisor, the company bought Vacation Home Rentals just last week. As for the Tripbod deal, not further information was disclosed.
