Some good news from Travelport, clients will now be able to book rail travel on the much talked about Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori (NTV), the first Italian private high-speed railway. The strategic partnership tells of NTV distribution via Galileo-connected travel agencies in Italy and around the world.
For those unfamiliar with NTV, Italy’s first private high-speed railway company connects 9 Italian cities and 12 railway stations via some 50 trips per day. The deal with Travelport allows agents to book directly via Travelport Smartpoint App. Director of Sales and Service for NTV, Giuseppe Bonollo, offered this about the deal:
“To be successful with our new high-speed rail service we need a strong relationship with travel agents. We are building that strong relationship with the support of a technology and distribution partner that is able to provide significant value during our start-up phase. We chose to partner with Travelport, as they are proven to be able to provide travel suppliers with a crucial distribution channel for the Italian market as well as worldwide.”
