The Young Artists Festival Come to Samos August 7th – 13th

SAMOS YOUNG ARTISTS FESTIVAL

Performers from China, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Russia, Turkey, and the United States will be featured in the 10th Samos Young Artists Festival. Seven concerts August 7th through 13th at the ancient open-air theater of Pythagoreion will pay tribute to 18th and 19th-century European music.

Performances of Italian Baroque and traditional Mediterranean classics are to be performed under the direction of Masha Ilyashov and Alexis Karaiskakis-Nastos beginning at 20:30 each evening. The concert festival will showcase young talents on violin, viola, cello, piano and more.

The Festival’s artistic directors, the pianist Masha Ilyashov and the cellist Alexis Karaiskakis-Nastos created this year’s program as a musical journey bridging cultural and national divides. 

The opening concert will feature the Ventus Ensemble and Lenia Safiropoulou, “For the lost children of our time” will pay tribute to the refugee children lost trying to cross the border seeking a better life.
