The Other Wind Festival Sougia: Free Events Today and Tomorrow

Via Fortuna Club Official

The Other Wind Festival kicked off this past weekend in Sougia on the Libyan Sea in the southwest of Crete. Running August 9th through 17th, this third rendition of the festival features a gastronomical start each evening at the village’s famous Fortuna Music Club.

The debut evening was headlined by The Big Nose Attack, The Noise Figures, and The Dragons. These regionally famous DJs will be lifting up the sleepy little village at the end of the amazing gorge of Agia Irini 75 kilometers south of Chania town.

Sponsored by Anek Lines and Blue Star Ferries, The Other Wind Festival is a week-long concert and party series set on the 1.2-kilometer-long pristine beach there. The program of events forecasts the two free nights of performances, first with Apanemic, and then with tomorrow’s appearance of Moderator. For a preview of tonight’s kick back evening, here is Apanemic performing at Μηδέν Ένα.

Coming up national DJ heroes Underwater Chess, The Booms, Kos K and many others amp up the nights in remotest Crete.

In Sougia you will find restaurants, taverns, rooms, cafes, chill bars, mini market, etc. all situated a few steps from the crystal clear and clean waters off Crete’s less traveled south coast.

From the small port of Sougia, boats of ΑΝΕΝΔΥΚ come and go to Chora Sfakion, Paleochora, Agia Roumeli, Loutro, as well as the amazing island of Gavdos.
