Budapest’s Sziget Festival 2014 Celebrates Berlin

Budapest’s Sziget Festival is one of the top Eastern European events of the Summer, a reason for visitors from all over Europe to pack their bags, and to flock to the Island of Freedom. It is an amazing display of Hungarian and international artists and performers, and a programme that will keep you entertained for 7 days, from August 11 to August 18, 2014.

The diverse schedule of the Sziget Festival allows you to enjoy not only quality music, but also to meet some of the stars, to admire outstanding contemporary art, to create your own souvenirs at one of the art venues, or just to chill out on the beach. To take full advantage of what the festival and the city have to offer you this season, we recommend you to buy the Sziget-Budapest Citypass, which includes many gratuities, such as free public transportation, free rides with the Sziget boat, free entry to one of the famous Turkish spas, free transfers between the Liszt Ferenc Airport and the festival venue, free entries to some of the best museums in Budapest, and to the Budapest Zoo. The pass also allows you to save a percentage of the cost for tickets to the Sziget Eye Belváros and the Ferris wheel of the festival.

To help you find your favorite venues, and discover the new ones, the Sziget Festival Official fan page on Facebook published the new Sziget map. An interactive map is available online at http://szigetfestival.com/info/map:

An interesting aspect of the festival this year is a celebration of Berlin music and culture at many festival venues, as 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
