Sundown Marathon, Sleep Can Wait

In news from Singapore, the annual Sundown Marathon takes place there today. Thousands of competitors from around the world will take part in a sports festival and three distance running events, all for charity. When a great run is at hand, and others are in need, Sleep Can Wait – the organizers say.

HiVelocity has organized one of the most interesting and meaningful running events in the world with the Sundown Marathon. Anyone who runs at all knows the night hold a special ambiance, and this event has thrived on it. Today’s events, a 10k, half marathon, and full marathon, are scheduled to kick off at 6, 8, and 10 PM respectively.

A list of sponsors including HighVelocity, New Balance,  Polar, Power Bar, and many others supported this event to benefit Handcycling Association Singapore’s Team HAS Junior Handcycling, and the  training program that is part of the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC). For the contestants, the organizers are awarding a full range of prizes and trophies.

First place in the full marathon gets a Crystal Trophy – $500 Singalore and $600 worth of New Balance vouchers, Second gets a Crystal Trophy – $250 S and $300 in NB vouchers, and Third brings home a trophy – $170 and $150 respectively.
