Slovakia’s Pohoda Festival Begins This Week

For those visiting Slovakia this week, the open air Pohoda Music Festival kicks off on this Thursday 7, July – Saturday the 9th of July. One of the largest such events in Slovakia, the festival features alternative music, rock, pop, dance music, world music, house, techno, drum and bass, hip hop, and even dance and literature workshops. Update: According to the organizers, the festival is currently sold out!

Organized primarily by Agentúra Pohoda, the Pohoda Festival for 2011 will see performances by; Moby, M.I.A., Pulled Apart By Horses, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Imogen Heap (video below), Lila Downs, Pulp, Madness, Nourish my fame (image above) and Portishead, just to name a random few. As in the past, Pohoda is scheduled to take place at Trenčín, Slovakia’s airport. Ten stages will feature the highly eclectic performances the festival is so noted for.
