Santo Wines Presents Exclusive Wine Tasting in Heraklion

Santo Wines

Coming up this Wednesday, January 16th, the famous Santo Wines collective will conduct an exclusive wine tasting event presenting prestigious wines from Santorini. Open to the public, the event will feature the uniqueness of the island’s volcanic influenced wines.

Santorini wines are world renowned for their volcanic essence, and for the special character that grows in this unique climate on ancient vines. Santo Wines is a cooperative founded way back in 1947 and located in the amazing Pyrgos Village of Santorini, one of the most picturesque places on that paradise. The collective produces about 500,000 bottles each year for export to more than 68 countries worldwide.

The wine tasting takes place at the Wine Store located in the Heraklion Industrial Park at ΒΙΠΕ ΗΡΑΚΛΕΙΟΥ, 71 601 Heraklion, next to the Creta TV studios. The event is set to begin at 20:30 and the ticket price is €20 euro per person. Guests will have the experience of sampling exquisite white wines like their Nykteri Reserve and the Grand Reserve Santorini. These are from Santorini’s phylloxera free wine region, from grapes grown on ancient un-grafted vines.

Santo Wines’ R&D invests in the ongoing development of cultivation and vinification techniques, while it aims at the preservation of the biodiversity through the operation of a nursery of autochthonous varieties, a solid base for study and trial cultivation of local grapes.

For those interested in attending the event you can call Nikos Iliadis at 2810-343541 or 693 726 5582 for more information.
