Rezidor Hotel Group Adds Another Baltic Sea Hotel

In Eastern Europe hotel news today, Stockholm based Rezidor Hotel Group AB (STO – REZT) announced their taking over of the management of Hotel Rezydent in Sopot, northern Poland. The 64 room hotel and spa brings Rezidor’s room count in Poland to over 1,500 according to this news.

First off, for readers who are not familiar with Poland’s Baltic coast, Sopot is perhaps one of the most noted popular spots along the seashore there. Famous for its luxurious spas and resorts, this small city of about 40,000 is the perfect getaway for the spa conscious traveler – as the images and websites suggested reveal.

Presicent and CEO of Rezidor, Kurt Ritter, expressed his company’s pleasure in the addition of this fine hotel to their chain; “We are delighted to welcome Hotel Rezydent to our family. The property which originally opened in 2001 is in a very good condition – a further renovation will even improve its services and performance.”

In addition to the 64 guest rooms, the Hotel Rezydent has an all day restaurant, a meeting room, and even a small but luxurious spa. Within walking distance of the beach, the hotel makes a good choice for visitors to this part of Sopot. For thos unfamiliar with the city, Sopot was once a very popular seaside resort before WWII. The city has only now become a popular resort again, noted for its opulent health spas and of course the magical Baltic Sea.
