Prague Goes Without Shoes Today!

Today, April 29 at 4 PM in Prague, visitors will have the chance to join Prague residents in joining the nearly one-quarter of the world’s people without shoes. One Day Without Shoes is set to draw attention to how poverty affects our world.

To highlight the event, a walking concert featuring Jan P. Muchow, along with Never Sol, Please the Trees, choir Elpid, Charlie One, and Tata Bojos will set out from Zofin island in the park. The participants will along the Vltava’s banks, ending their shoeless jouney with a concert in Bajkazyl at Náplavka. 

The local organizers will also be shooting a video along with images to share via social media. Some prominent celebrities to take part include; actors and actresses Aňa Geislerová, Klára Issová, Jiří Mádl, moderators Emma Smetana and Lejla Abbasová, musicians Tonya Graves and Aneta Langerová. The event is organized internationally by Toms Shoes, that says they shoes actually help school attendance and other societal issues.
